When I first started spinning I really wanted to be able to knit a pair of socks from fleece I had spun myself.
I have now done that !!!!!!!!
At the end of September we went to Masham sheep fair. It was really good to see all the different breeds of sheep and I got to buy a Jacobs fleece and 2 Ryeland fleece.
2 weeks later Hubby kindly bought me an Ashford drum carder seeing as the garage is now full of fleece. ( I have 1 Black Welsh Mountain, 5 Cheviot and a mystery fleece in there aswell ).
These socks are from the Ryeland fleece.
I have washed, sorted, carded, spun and knitted these socks and the sense of acheivement is amazing. I have just finished spinning some more Ryeland from a brown fleece so hopefully that will be socks too ( or fingerless mitts....)
