Something different.

This afternoon I have been sat in the sun, yes the sun, after about 5 weeks of rain the sun has finally put in an appearance.





I filled the paddling pool up for the kids and I sat back and spun some Jacob I had carded onto a spindle. ( top picture, bottom picture is some carded Ryeland ). I haven't spindle spun for about 18 months and I presume it's because I have the wheels but spindle spinning is so much fun. I have found I can get a much thinner single and it seems to be spinning at a more consistant weight too than I can on the wheel.

I think I use the wheels because they are faster but doing Pomatomus socks and being half way through Marlene socks has I think taught me some patience.....at last.
