Ripped it back.

Well after much thought and posting the question on 2 different knitting forums. I ripped back the second sock to the heel.
I figured it would be easier to pick up both stitches and pattern from there.
Once the decision was made and the wool was in a pile around my feet I felt much happier.
I will have two perfect socks.
